User interface pattern guidelines

A comprehensive rules for UI created by Hina Hirani

As a lead user experience designer with over 10+ years of experience, i always want to create harmonious experiences for the users. By solving challenging interactions at the outset, and then apply the solutions consistently across the product - making sure people only have to learn the desired behaviour once.

My guidelines have space for flexibility, and are continuously revised and expanded to change the users needs.

These guideline have been created by me to help product teams understand the behaviour of each component. These guidelines are not specific to any existing company's design system they are to simple rules that i follow and encourage my product teams to do the same based on my experience in designing for products.

Design, Develop and Deliver

Design with purpose. Make products that are useful, elegant, and easy to use. Know why the product or feature is needed before we build it. Measure and challenge the effectiveness of what we build.

Design inclusively irrespective of background, circumstance, digital skills, or subject. Remove as many barriers as possible and ensure that it is accessible.

Develop in collaboration and collaborate from the start. Communicate what is being built as we build it.

Work closely with teams and build great relationships. Encourage everyone to innovate, experiment, and be creative.

Create harmonious experiences by solving challenging interactions and apply solutions consistently across all products.

Deliver products that have been created from learning from what people do, not assuming what they say they do or need.
